Re: Those slimey slugs and snails!


A jar or bucket (depending on your enthusiasm) about half-filled with water
and with a bit of dishsoap works beautifully too.  I pick up the snails by
the shells and drop them in.  Slugs I use the trowel on.  If I ever manage
to get out there at night I'll probably do it with a bucket so the extra
dirt from picking up slugs doesn't fill up the jar.

Good for you for not using poison!  Even if I weren't an organic gardener
I'd avoid it...nearly lost my dog to it in High School...several dogs in
the neighborhood did die after one person put one spreading of snail bait
out.  My dog and a couple others got to the vet in time.
