Maybe check what color the corn seed is and make anote of what color the
seedling emerges. I have seen the purple varieties send up purple plants
(they grow out of it). I think it has a lot to do with the embryogenesis
of the seeds. If I am not mistaken, the endosperm develops from the
pollen, and the other goodies develops from the ovary. (why normal corn
will produce colered kernels if open pollinated with indian corns, also why
sweet pepers can be really hot if cross pollinated with say a jalapeno). I
am not sure wha the endosperm becomes and how it relates to the whole deal,
but I think this is thre reason....
