The best retail-quantity seed catalogue in the world is from:
Chiltern Seeds
Bortree Stile, Ulverston
Cumbria LA12 7PB, England
Tel. Ulverston (01229) 581137 (24 h)
Email: 101344.1340@compuserve.com
--it's worth reading even just for entertainment.
Another thing to look into are sort of meta-catalogues:
1. Andersen Horticultural Library's Source List of Plants and Seeds
--is a retail and wholesale sources for 45,000 plants
It used to be available for $34.95 from:
Andersen Horticultural Library, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum,
3675 Arboretum Drive, Box 39, Chanhassen, MN 55317.
I don't know if it's still available -- amazon.com claims they are out of
print.
2. A very similar thing from the other side of the world is apparently at:
http://www.seedsearch.demon.co.uk/index.html#anchor140473
its $42 postage paid to the U.S. I haven't bought one of these yet but i
think i will shortly.
