Holly,
Ononis spinosa readily escaped from cultivation and has become
established as a persistent weed in the Morton Arboretum (in Lisle,
Illinois about 40 miles west of Chicago). Thus, at least under Chicago's
conditions, it displays a definite propensity for weediness.
