Coastal hebes

Here on central coast California the hebes thrive. The UCSC
Arboretum has introduced any number of them. You will find them in mall
plantings. I have five species that are doing very well. When they begin to
bloom in September, sometimes a heat wave will brown the flowers, but they have
withstood freezes and 100+ degree weather with no ill effects. It must be the
coastal influence? But they are certainly part of a Med garden around
