Moira - Many thanks for *second* message, re which I can almost repeat
verbatim my comments on - and my situation re - the first: viz, how
fortunate I am to be so ignorant, hence continually being tempted by
new-to-me plants!
A. solandri sounds particularly interesting and since the one
nurseryman over here who offers it is a friend of mine I may be able
to sweet-talk my way into possession of a chunk...!
Well, so far I've done the right things, apparently, with my current
batch of seeds: that is, they *were* cold stratified for a couple of
months and have now been sown - so I shall fully expect them to do
their stuff at the end of winter or beginning of spring: or else! (A.
nervosa, I find on checking, is among'em - but given my previous
record with astelia seeds I'm not counting my seedlings...!)
Best wishes -
Tim
