I can confirm this. When I started this garden close on 50 years ago I
had a single corm of this species culled from an old garden which was
about to be destroyed. Now it comes up all over my borders strongly and
handsomly and in most cases I welcome it, though it is easy enough to
pull the young ones out anywhere I _don't_ want it.
I have a friend who can't stand the colour and has always counted it as
a weed, but I have no such prejudice, though I do sometimes wish there
could be a wider colour range in something so very easy to satisfy.
