Interesting that on Vancouver Is. Diane finds F. m. 'Alba' to be a shy
flowerer and an early 'stopper'. Here on the NW UK coast it's t'other way
round: straightforward F.m. tends to lose most of its foliage and most of
its flowers quite early (mid-October-ish), whereas F.m. 'Alba' goes on and
on and on: still fully clothed and furiously flowering as I write, despite
several moderate late autumn gales and some chilly (tho not yet frosty)
nights.
