My F. m. 'Alba' is still fully clothed with leaves but I have never
known it to bloom abundantly through the cool weather like the
others. Maybe I keep it too dry through summer and fall.

It was about 15 years old. A year or two before it died, the trunk
starting weeping, more correctly oozing a clear gelatinous substance
on the bottom 10 inches or so. Even with this, it seemed healthy
right up until the end which was when it snapped off at the base.
It was leaning outward anyway. A couple of other older specimens
I've seen have become top-heavy - two years ago, I saw the one at
the City Hall in Nanaimo leaning and the gardeners had tied it up to
a couple of stakes. I don't know if it is still there. It will
grow from cuttings.

Thanks for this information. Royal Roads is a long way from here.
Do you know when it blooms?
