I couldn't get Alt 0128 to work at all but here are a few euro signs
pasted in from Word doc. made using Einion's Ctrl+Alt+4,
followed by the pound sign for you to play with:
€ € € £££
ALL of those "ALT+nnnn" graphics only work if you use the "numeric
keypad" at the right-hand end of a full keyboard. If you have a laptop,
these do not have the numeric keypad, so I think it is impossible to use
this trick with those.
ALT+0128 using the number keys across the top of the regular alphabetic
keys does not do anything = (I just did it - result, nothing)
But ALT+0128 using the numeric keypad produces this = €
