We have been wondering about our good friends from around San Diego on a couple of the lists we subscribe to who might have been affected, but so far thank goodness have had only assurances all is still well and we are hoping no news is good news for trhe rest..

Big forest fires are rare in NZ than goodness thanks to our moist temperate rainforest vegetation, but our Austrailian neighbours suffer devastating burns in many years in spite of very strenuous efforts to avoid them and firefighters from NZ are often called in to help with the worst ones.

Our best thoughts and prayers for your safety and survival are with you all.
