Medit people, hellooo are we still around ? I've had Aristea major for 2 years. Healthy, but no flowers. Is this one of those plants that needs smoke in order to bloom? If so boo-hoo, the pictures make me neeed it!
Annie
I have a plant of this which is over forty years old which to my recollection has only flowered twice at long intervals and apparently for no particular reason.
I must admit the site it is growing in has become more and more shady with the years and possibly moving it would make all the difference.
A ecklonii flowers all to well in this same garden no matter where situated, and is an inveterate colonizer, so I have to do a good deal of deadheading and defensive rooting out.
Moira
PS My (NZ) book asserts A. major should now be known more correctly as
A. thyrsiflora (comments anybody?)
