The first one I grew from seed was on a front bank next to the street, and after several years it was blown out of the ground during a bad winter storm.
The second one is more sheltered, behind the house. I keep it pruned so it is narrow. Grows near an Embothrium. I waited 32 years for the Embothrium to begin flowering, but the Cytisus was much quicker. Quick enough that I didn't need to figure out how long I'd had it, but not so quick that I was astounded enough to check dates.
The silky silver foliage is reason enough to grow it, and I haven't noticed any leaf scent.
I always get a good show of flowers but have never had seeds.
