Bob,
I have never come across this species in my work as a
horticulturist/landscape designer. I suspect it is
not in the trade here in California, and may only be
found in botanic gardens such as at UC Davis, which
would have a climate most similar to much of Turkey.
On the other hand, Pistachia chinensis is a very
common tree here locally, and much used for the
brilliant fall color and also quite drought tolerant.
Is P. terebinthus as oranamental?
