Hi folks -
I've recently been playing around with my flickr photo site, exploring what
options exist there. I've ended up creating a photo 'pool' on the topic of
mediterranean climate gardens. I've put a number of shots up already, and
other's have joined as well. If you'd like to browse, here is the URL:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/medit-garden/
Flickr accounts are free (for the basic capability) and relatively easy to
use. If you already have a Yahoo account, you can use that as your login.
I've set the 'medit-garden' pool to moderated in order to keep the focus tight
and the quality of shots high. This is not meant to be restrictive - in fact,
anyone can join the pool and submit photos. Just consider carefully and
choose only the best shots.
What I envision in this collection of photos are examples of climate
appropriate garden practice and design. Large expanses of lawn are
discouraged, Water hungry annuals as well. Heat and dry tolerant shrubby
perennials and trees, especially in interesting combination, are encouraged.
Unusual, climate specific approaches, even whimsy are appreciated.
If you have any questions regarding this flickr photo pool, please let me
know. Meanwhile, enjoy!
