Thanks to everyone who responded. Epiphyllum oxypetalum seems to
fit the bill. I even found one article in a Pharmacology journal
where extracts were used in conjunction with very specific factors
on certain cancer cells. Not something I would want to do at home! Thanks again. Karrie -------- Original Message --------

http://ucanr.org/filevault/fi.cfm?fn=20192&pw I would guess that the plant is an epiphyllum, maybe
oxypetalum but I'm not sure. I think Epiphyllum oxypetalum is
used for medicinal purposes but I thought it was the flowers
that were used. As far as being poisonous, most plants that are
medicinal are also poisonous. Knowing the correct amount to use
is important and I wouldn't just take this without knowing a lot
more about what it is and how much is ok to use. Carolyn Craft
