My wife and I visited Lotusland in Santa Barbara this past fall, as part of the MGS Annual Meeting. Was far larger than I imagined! Some very impressive plantings and some good ideas. The slag glass edging started to become a bit cliche - I thought it was best in the 'blue' garden and should be more restrictively used. One of the most interesting plantings was espaliered Leptospermum laevigatum, Australian Tea Tree over a walkway arbor. Quite wonderful! Would love to see that employed in the Bay Area.
