Locally, here in the SF Bay Region, some of the easily forced bulbs
such as Paperwhite Narcissus, leap into bloom at this time of year,
and apparently also again in spring. I have often wondered if it
was indeed the same bulbs producing each flower display, but as I do
not grow these in my own garden at the moment, it is not something
easily observed for me. The bulbs seem no worse for wear. It does
seem a bit strange, but seasons are not 'typical' (according to
standard folklore) in our Mediterranean climates. Last year (this
fall has been too hot), I saw a Lilac in full flower at this time of
year - it would have completed the picture to have your bulbs
planted at its foot! ;-)
