Caveate to the following, my climate is NOT a typical Med. more
sub-tropical I get a lot more moisture than a true mediteranean climate.
And the heat & humidity pose different problems. That said... 

Cathleen, Here in North East Florida this is a failry common occurence. The
Daffodils often come up in the fall before the really cold weather comes
along and even bloom occasionaly. Mostly what happens is the first folliage
freezes off, but it doesn't seem to do much damage, the bulbs just leap out
in the spring like normal if not a bit earlier. There does seem at times to
be fewer or smaller spring blooms, but given the rapid onset of warm
weather the plants get a good chance to recharge here in the spring, early
summer.
Overall it doesn't seem to bother them in the least.
