Re: Lavandula stoechas ssp. Lusitanica?
Hello Ernie and all Medit-Planters,
I, myself, was browsing around in a catalogue from an Australian nursery
and came across a new introduction: Lavender 'Tickled Pink', Lavandula
stoechas ssp. luisieri. It was beautiful (picture). Described as dark
plum flowers in large pink bracts, grey foliage. Blooms spring and
autumn.
No mention of it in the Robert Kourik book. But Judyth McLeod does
mention it in her book "Lavender, Sweet Lavender", Kangaroo Press,
Australia. She says it is being trialled (1989) at Yuulong Lavender
Farm, Mt. Egerton, Victoria.
I'm wondering if this could be your ssp. Lusitanica. You know how
nurserymen confuse spellings and names.
I'm wondering if any of our Aussie buddies have seen it.
