In bonsai, a similar effect is dont to produce trees called a "broom"
style. YOu basically cut the branches off to two main ones, and this
produces many twigs, which if the tree is kept pruned produces a thick
round head of branches and leaves. The effect only works on deciduous
trees that produce many fine twigs (like a Zelkova)
