Most SF Bay Area plant/garden events are listed in the calendar at
gardens.com.
So. Cyndi, what's ba.gardens?
Gardens.com is a fine website but it's not the best medium for all people.
Frankly, I forget to go there and it takes too many clicks to get what I
want. Also, the listings, while fairly complete, are at the whim of the
site owners (which is how it should be for a private site).
What we in the SF Bay Area needed was a place where anyone could post about
events. So I started the Usenet group ba.gardens. It's been there for
over a year now and gets regular posts. It's focused on local events,
nurseries, climates, and plants.
It is a good compliment to Medit-Plants with not too much overlap. After
all, us Bay Area folks may be the majority on Medit-Plants but it's not a
local mailing list. I wouldn't want to bore the non-BA folks too too often
:-)
If someone could post the details of the sale (or at least the date, place,
and an URL) to ba.gardens, I would appreciate it.
Cyndi
