Dear Medit-planters,
I just wanted to say what a wonderful trip to California my wife, Chris, and I
had for the two mediterranean gardening symposia in San Francisco and
Los Angeles over the last two weeks. It was great to meet so many Medit-
plants people, and we particularly want to thank Maura and Bob and Sean.
We really enjoyed the diverse programs, and I was amazed at the vast range
of plants that can be grown well in California, if a little frustrated than almost
none of them will survive St. Louis, Missouri! It was also a real treat to see
the Pacific coast, splattered with red Zauschneria, and the ancient redwood
forests, slithering with bright yellow banana slugs!
