Dear Mr.Turland and Medit-Planters,
Your Medit Plants e-mail of October 4th made me
dream about having been at the symposium too - and surprised that someone else
was impressed (to say the least) with those horrible disgusting banana slugs in
the redwood forests.
I was intriqued by the FLORA OF CHINA PROJECT as
part of your address. Have you at the Missouri Botanical Garden any record
at all of anyone ever seeing 'Mutabilis' (Rosa chinensis 'Mutabilis')
in the wild in China? I have been able to trace it as far back as Isola
Madre and then the Bourbon Isle (Reunion), but have located no earlier
traces. It MUST have originate in China...
Any comments or help would be much
appreciated.
Best wishes,
Helene Pizzi
