Re: Out of print books

Richard - I've never seen the fruit book you're interested in (wasn't
Violet Stevenson basically a flower arranger? I seem to remember
seeing several books by her on that arcane subject) but the Lancaster
& Noailles is quite frequently and cheaply available in the 2nd hand
trade in the UK. I picked up my own copy in Wigton in Dumfries and
Galloway ('Scotland's Book Town' says its hyperbolic PR...) a few
years ago for a couple of pounds. I'm sure a specialist dealer in
gardening books would soon turn it up. If the already suggested Barn
Books don't have it, you could try Mike Park in Sutton... or Clare
Brightwell at Chantrey Books in Sheffield...or Anna Buxton in
Edinburgh..., good reliable professionals all. (Address/tel.no.
details if you want'em; I don't think any of the ones I've mentioned
are on the internet, a means of communication which British secondhand
bookdealers seem to dislike with some passion.)
