I believe the one you're referring to is the same one that's common here in
Corfu, as well.  The one in Spain is similar but of a different purple,
that's why I'd like to introduce it here, for juxtaposition.
I agree about cemeteries not only in Istanbul but all over the world.  Guide
books share most people's supersitious aversion.  In Greece we have some
gorgeous ones, including two here in Corfu:  the municipal one of Kerkyra,
and the British Cemetery.  The British cemeteries of Rome and Lisbon are
also beautiful
