Re: Overwintering Cannas and Hedychium

David - Suspect you're right about the alpinia not flowering here and having
to be treated as a container plant. I continually make that resolution - the
one about *not* growing silly plants for my climate, plants that need
fussing over, plants that need to be overwintered under glass - and as
continually break it, so I shall still, sooner or later (and probably sooner
rather than later), give them a try.

I looked at the Little and Lewis site you recommended. Some handsome things.
Pity the site didn't show us more of the garden. Have you been? Is it as
handsome as the artwork - and overall as handsome as the bits glimpsed in
one or two of the images?
