I grow B. lindleyana here in Menlo Park, Ca, Sunset zone 17. It needs 
aggressive pruning (I love the UK term, "stooling") each year. It grows very 
well with morning sun and part shade with long drooping flower spikes, 
sometimes to 18"! Pretty and tough.
