Talk tomorrow in San Luis Obispo (central CA coast)/MGS Branch?

For those California folks near to or going through the Central Coast area, there is a talk being given tomorrow night (Oct 17, 7pm) by Katherine Greenberg, current president of the Mediterranean Garden Society, hosted by the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden (www.slobg.org/). The title is:
The Spanish Influence on California Gardens: from the Mission period to the Present

Katherine has led many tours to Spain to enjoy the gardens and cuisine of this mediterranean climate region, which has a historical connection with California. This talk is free to the public, call (805)546-3501 for more information.

Of additional interest to some may be that in the San Luis Obispo area there is some interest in possibly creating a local Branch of the Mediterranean Garden Society. Katherine's visit (as she is president of the MGS) is precipitating more conversation on this topic. Those who might be interested in knowing more about this concept should try and meet Katherine during her visit, and/or talk with the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden (www.slobg.org/contact_us.htm). There is some concern not to distract those who are already working hard to create this important, new botanical garden based upon the 5 mediterranean climates of the world, so additional people who would be interested in helping to form a MGS Branch would be very welcome.

If anyone is interested in talking with me regarding what a MGS Branch might do and what might be involved in running it, as co-chair of the No. Calif. Branch, please feel free to send me an e-mail.

Regards,
Seán O.
