Google Earth, a bit off-topic, but helpful for plant environments

To all:

Check out Google Earth for a powerful overhead view of surface features, from continents down to vehicles (metro areas of first world countries). You can change the pitch from overhead to nearly horizontal, but it helps if your graphics card has good 3D utilities.

Download the small program and run with it. Check out the mountains of Mexico near Monterrey for a spectacular vista of the Eleven Sisters, a large complex of syncline-anticline ranges.

Anyone wanting to visualize a collection area and get clues about how to figure out horticultural demands of a new plant might find this utility helpful. Obviously, plant collectors will want this site as an aid for planning trips.
