RE: take pity...

Absolutely - there's nothing that makes me crankier than sitting down with
my morning coffee and staring blankly at the screen while it downloads an
endless stream of kb, blocking all else until they funnel thru my
'primitive' OS and mail system.  This is one reason all elists I'm familiar
with insist photos never be sent as attachments but posted separately.  The
other reason is the danger of viruses.  And it is more sensible to send
them in compressed format that is quick to download.
