I've been meaning to send this email for a few weeks.  

It was fantastic to meet so many list serv members at the international Mediterranean Garden Society meeting earlier this month in Monterey.  Our own Sean O'hara and Nancy (whose last name escapes me) were the main organizers, I believe, helped by Bracey Tiede and lots of others.  

We met at a lovely little hotel where we enjoyed hearing about California's Mediterranean climate zones, garden design in California, native California plants, and lots more.  

Of course there were tours of nurseries and of gardens, some of them absolutely breath-taking.  

But the best part was the people of course.  It is funny how some of you seem like old friends already from our many years of corresponding though we had never met  - Cali, Chantal, Cheryl Renshaw (though we've met before), Jean, etc.  I was just thrilled to finally have faces to match to the emails.  

There was some discussion about how to find archived messages.  They are all on-line at www.mallorn.com.  Simply find the Medit-garden list and you can search by date, by topic, by thread, etc.
