Leucodendron argenteum

The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden heeds your help. We planted a
Leucodendron argenteum last spring in a very sandy soil prepared just for
it and have been trying to water it only when the soil around it was dry
but it is beginning to droop and looks sick to us. It is about four feet
tall, and up until now has grown well. Can anyon help us?
