Dear Gardeners, 24 October 1998
Nan and I seem to have moved this discussion in directions never
intended.
The product I purchased, named above under subject contains only
synthetic pyrethroids--the names of which mean little to me.
The directions is to apply to the ground or window sills, door sills,
other entrances and exits for ants and roaches to your garden and home.
No honey bee is likely to be interested or affected in anyway by these
chalk lines. Ground dwelling bees still feed on flowers above the
ground and I've never seen a honey bee choose anything lower than
clover to feed on.
Under these circumstances it seems an excellent choice of product for
controlling and excluding ANTS from your home and garden - and with
the disappearence of "Chlordane" this seems a much safer and easier
process.
I'd try it before I'd knock it and will be glad to send the full list
of ingrediets to anyone who sends me a stamped self addressed
enevlope to:
