RE: Sedum, "Autumn Joy"

<<In August, there was a flurry of discussion about this plant. Several
people voiced dissatisfaction with its performance. I looked at what had
been sold to me as Sedum telephium "Autumn Joy" and it was, indeed a pale
pink. I began to think that it might be Sedum spectabile "Brilliant".>>

I have both. 'Brilliant' is a bright, deep pink and is floppier than
'Autumn Joy.' I was looking at my 'Autumn Joy' today. It has turned from
pinky-tan to pinky-brown. It's still a handsome plant. I just don't see
what all the fuss is about. Perhaps it does take an early frost to bring
out the best in this variety.
