Autumn colour

Hi Trevor et al,

Our list of nice Autumn coloured plants is very similar to yours. In Japanese maples, we have found 'Hisakura' and common 'Kanzan' get extremely pretty in hot orange and red. I favour Nyssa sinensis to Nyssa sylvatica for intense red. Enkianthus and blueberries are also a highlight, so are Cercidiphyllum, Liquidambar and Hamamellis, though I guess this cannot be considered a good plant for the Mediterranean. Parrotias are also nice. But you didn't mention the bright red Autumn foliage of the Lagerstroemia, and some Cotynus... Species roses are also
showing great amounts of shocking red and orange hips: that is also Autumn interest...
