Hello Anthony

the very best plants of Tropaeolum sp. I have ever seen were growing in the
W
West of Scotland on the north side of yew hedges. They like cool moist root
runs and their roots range deep into the sub soil. We never managed to grow
it really well in the Midlands in England. I don't know your geographical
location, but if you can provide cool moist conditions you should manage
quite well, but the pot would have to be quite deep I think. This is only my
experience though and you may get more encouraging reports from others.

It would be interesting to know if anyone with our type of climate in Crete
successfully grows Tropaeloums. We grow T.ciliata very well, but have failed
with T. tuberosum Ken Aslet. This autumn we have planted corms of T.
tricolorum and are living in hopes.
