Re: Clematis


C. florida 'sieboldii' does really well in our warmer climate.  It's too 
tender for cold winters.  Mine gets lots of shade and still blooms.  I'd like 
to find a place where it would get the optimum root shade and sun on the rest 
of the plant.  The other one that does well is 'virgin's bower.'  I don't 
know the scientific name.  I bought it from the California Native Plant 
Society.  It grows up over the porch railings and through the climbing rose.
