For those folks going to the Symposium on Friday/Saturday, there will be a
lunch break and lunch will be served at the event. While there will be
various places to 'meet' with each other, it is best to stay close at hand
to be around for the start of the afternoon programme. A good place might
be the new sitting area just inside Strybing Arboretum, after the Roger
Raiche entry garden and to the left of the circular alpine plant bed. It
is a sitting area composed of old stones in a very interesting and clever
manner.
I will not be in attendance myself on Friday, but do hope to be there on
Saturday. If anyone sees me there, feel free to walk up and introduce
yourself if we haven't met. You can find my photo by following my links on
the web site (http://www.support.net/Medit-Plants/).
I have tried to setup a casual potluck to meet our Medit-Plants members who
are speakers at the Symposium (Alessandra Vinciguerra & Nick Turland) but
to no avail. For attendees of the Symposium, there is a casual gathering
after the event on Friday, when you can meet ALL of the speakers. It
promises to be a good event.
For those of you in Southern California (or even those visiting during Sept
30-Oct 1), there is still lots of room in that version of the Symposium,
sponsored by the Arboretum of Los Angeles County in Arcata.

Sean O.
