Nan,
I only have a few cultivars of Wisteria in my gardens and most are not in
bloom right now. The most fragrant wisteria I know is 'Cook's Special
Purple'. In the spring when it blooms en masse it fills a very large garden
with a rich scent of vanilla and it does it all day. This variety almost
always has a few flowers open through the summer and fall, and these are
intensely fragrant, although there are not enough of them to carry on our
usually very dry air. The ones in bloom right now are fragrant all day (I
checked them periodically on Saturday). Since I am not there at night, I
don't know whether the perfume flows 'round the clock. Maybe someone else
knows?
