Hi Mark, sorry to be late in answering you. The Orto Botanico in Naples is opened every day, working hours. You only have to telephone in advance to leave your name at the gate, I am sorry, i don't have the number here but your hotel will be able to find it for you. The gate is actually closed, for security reasons, but a gatekeeper will open when you arrive there. If you find problems, call me at 339-5881651 (mob. phone) and I'll find a way to let you in. Hope you'll enjoy you visit, and also that you will have the time to go to Ischia (from the harbours Molo Beverello or Mergellina there is a hydrofoil every hour) and visit (on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) the gardens at La Mortella (check our Med. Gardens web page for links), that I currently help taking care of. Oh, during the weekends at 5pm there are free concerts in the  Music hall.

Thanks to all that have responded to my request for more info -
 
  although previously I managed to find an Internet address for the garden in question it must have been quite an antiquated one. Those provided have gotten me connected in double quick time. I'll provide an account of my trip in due course, I've only a week in the area but already it doesn't appear nearly enough.
