Hi there, Whilst it's wonderful reading all the mail to Medit Plants, it is of such volume that it's blocking up my (rather antique) work system. Would you please mind deleting me from the subscription list (address <l*@otenet.gr>levendis@otenet.gr) I'll organise another address specifically for gardening work and then ask to be added to your list again
Many thanks

Hi Marilyn -

I understand your situation, but here is an option that you might consider:

You can still remain in the group but not get the mail sent to you. In this way, if you ever wish to send a message to the group, you can still do so, but not worry about managing the mail. You can also keep track of the discussion any time you wish by checking the archived messages on www.mallorn.com/medit-plants/

Here is how you do it (very simple):

Send the following 1-line message to listproc@ucdavis.edu :

set medit-plants mail postpone

Again, this will 'shut off' the mail but you remain subscribed and can still send messages.

To get the mail again, send this message (again, to listproc@ucdavis.edu):

set medit-plants mail

As you might guess, these commands are used for turning off the mail while you are away on vacation, etc., but they work for this use also. And with the www.mallorn.com archives, you don't lose contact the with group.

You can also remove yourself from the group using this command (sent to listproc@ucdavis.edu):

unsub medit-plants

All of the above command MUST be sent from the e-mail account under which you are subscribed to the group.

Seán O.
