We do have ordinary security lights worked by motion sensors on the
outside of our house. The local cats (and probably dogs) are not at all
disturbed by these lights. If awake in the night, we quite often see the
lights come on outside as some stray animal walks along our entrance
path. It doesn't seem to bother the animals at all. Probably, as
domestic pets, they are used to lights that come on in the night,
possibly wild animals might be more disturbed!
