Re: callistemon

Could it be...

Callistemon 'Little John' - Dwarf Callistemon

Family: Myrtaceae (Myrtles)
Origin: Australia (Australasia)
Evergreen: Yes
Flower Color: Red
Bloomtime: Year-round
Height: 2-3 feet
Width: 2-3 feet
Exposure: Full Sun
Drought Tolerant: Yes
Irrigation Req.: Low Water Needs
Winter Hardiness: 20-25° F

An evergreen small shrub that forms a 3 feet high and
3 feet wide rounded mound with narrow 3 inch long
bluish gray-green leaves and flowers of blood red
bristle stamens that appear throughout the year, but
peak bloom time is early summer through fall. Plant in
full sun to light shade. Is drought tolerant in
coastal gardens but tolerates and performs best with
some irrigation. Hardy to about 20-25 degrees F. A
great small Bottlebrush for massing or as a foundation
plant. Reportedly gets chlorotic in overly wet soils
but responds to chelate iron fertilizers.
