This is an international (global) list about mediterranean plants. Sunset
zones are not used or understood by most of the mediterranean climate areas
of the world.
I live in what is referred to by scientists as a "mediterranean climate"
ecoregion. Known as the Coastal Douglas fir Biogeoclimatic Zone, the east
coast of Vancouver Island lies in the rainshadow of the Vancouver Island
Mountain Range so that we experience 5-7 weeks of drought each summer. Our
winters are relatively mild and wet with short periods of frost and/or snow.
Over the 200+/- miles of the area, the hardiness Zones vary from 7 to 9.
