I suppose you're living in Spain as you just mention Costa Blanca.
I'm myself looking for the same trees to hide a very ugly 2-storey building close to the house and creating my new garden. So I don't want to make mistakes before planting a tree for the life.
I've found a book (in french ) newly released which invite gardeners and landscape designers to plant new and uncommon trees in the south of France.
Some ideas from this book :

* callistemon viminalis : lime-tolerant
