This list has been more and more quite over the years, and has become virtually inactive recently. I've had a number of member e-mail me privately about this phenomenon. Nothing has been technically altered about the list, and there is currently no intention to close it down. It remains ready and willing to carry your conversations about mediterranean climate gardening. As has always been the case, you need only participate to make that happen.
Other forms have come into being since the inception of this group back in 1994. The Mediterranean Garden Society created their own web-based forum. How one interacts with that forum is different than Medit-Plants and it has created its own community. I also created recently a Facebook group based on mediterranean climate gardening and it has grown in popularity, bringing many new faces to the table as well as some of our stalwart Medit-Plants members. There is no reason all of these groups cannot continue to exist concurrently.
I have done what I can to 'salt' this forum from time to time and will continue to do so. But how the group continues into the future depends entirely on its membership.
