>Anyone know anything about " Miraculous Insecticidal Chalk" from China?
The Bio-integral Resources people have tested it and had a half-page
article on it in one of their newsletters. I have not seen the article but
a friend of mine has a copy (lost somewhere in her piles of paper).
The article said the active ingredient is a synthetic pyrethrum --
"delta-rethrine" (My spelling may not be correct as I am going on my
friend's pronunciation from memory.)
It is not a registered in the US, so is considered illegal for use as an
insecticide. But believe me, it is incredibly effective. A tiny line is
enough,... much less of a line than you tend to put down at first. I have a
few permenant tiny chalk lines in place at key points in the kitchen and
bathroom ...and my ant problems are a thing of the past.
Apparently it in the class of things that are relatiavely non-toxic, but
you wouldn't want to eat a whole stick of it...and you wouldn't want to
leave it lying around for a child to get into.
