Lavender varieties?

I've got a Provence lavender (L. intermedia 'Provence') that I like, but
it's next to our driveway and has grown too big for the space--my husband
whacks it every time he opens the car door. Can anyone recommend another
lavender variety that has the look of 'Provence' and other English-type
lavenders (long flower stems and compact foliage) but stays smaller? I also
have a Hidcote, but it doesn't have the same "look"--the stems are shorter
and are set in among the foliage more.

A local nursery recommended 'Grosso', but I saw it listed elsewhere as
growing to the same size as 'Provence'. Does anyone know anything about
'Fred Boutin' or 'Twickle Purple'? Are there any other varieties you'd
recommend I look for?

Thanks for your help,
Cheryl
