Janet: My guess would be that lack of humidity is part of the problem
as well as if not more than sheer heat. Gingers can take a lot of the
latter, providing there's enough moisture in the surrounding
atmosphere. Think jungle! Hardly Cretain conditions, even in shade...?
Not that I aim to be discouraging: the addict's ingenuity can work
wonders....
